A tattered book.
A weathered wardrobe.
A savaged piano.
An image painted onto a piece of paper.
A decaying civilization.
Combined, these artifacts speak with one other,
chronicling a narrative of time and human nature.
Torn apart, united, distorted, rewoven,
I rend raw materials from the discarded.
The process of decay is interrupted, augmented by my hands,
and reimagined to convey a cryptic past.
Even once the work is finished and I’ve stamped it with my seal
the story is still fluid.
